The countdown has started....!!!

The countdown has started! Thank you to everyone who is coming through with donations! Please help by procuring or donating an item today. Remember, we are counting on you to Make it Great in 2008!
Donations in this week:
-Claudia Farrell is reaching out near and far and contacted Sheehan’s Irish Imports. They have generously donated a display stand that holds three leprechaun figurines, one with an Irish Quote. Retail value $80.00.
-Paul and Beth Quinlan have donated a Lenox holiday candle lamp, value $60.00. They also donated a Hallmark musical snowman valued at $23.00.
-Uno Chicago Grill on the Country Club Plaza donated food vouchers valued at $75.00.
-Beth Volz has contacted some Local businesses for donations. Haub Studio is donating a sitting fee and 8 x 10 portrait, a value of $70.00. Beth has also procured a donation from Summit Lanes for Extreme Glow Bowling Friday 9:30 to 11, a $44.00 value. -Beth talked to Clint at Famous Johnny’s Comedy Club and he is donating tickets to the comedy club again this year. Beth has also procured a donation from G2 purses, Mary Godfrey. Watch for details!Beth asked Karen of the portrait gallery in Independence for a donation and she has donated a sitting fee and portrait, retail value $200.00. A great graduation gift idea. Way to go Beth!!
-Tom & Jan O’Hare have donated two Adirondack chairs that have been primed and are ready for your favorite color paint! Retail value $200.00.
-The Steele Family-From Grandma to the kids, have donated a lovely pumpkin themed basket that contains something for everyone! Value $115.00.
-Nina Pendergraft procured several wonderful Royals themed items from Carla Lane of Pinnacle Career Institute, from ball caps to stuffed animals. Watch for these in Royals themed gift packages.
-Barry Cook who owns Aquascape Specialties has generously donated one pool opening or closing including all labor and chemicals. Retail value $265.00. Unforeseen repairs extra.
-Rob & Karen Norton have donated a variety of items from a food lovers book to a 5 x 7 golfers themed frame. They also donated three woodwick candles with a retail value of $51.00. Thanks again to them!
-Colleen & Greg Melchoir have donated a metal 3 tiered pumpkin shaped tea light holder. Value $35.00.
-Phil and Sherri Hays have donated a Black & Decker 4.2 amp drill with a carrying case. Value $50.00. They also donated a Shop-Vac Hang Up 1 gallon mini vac valued at $40.00.
-Jeanette & Brad Crews, friends of O’Hara have donated several items.
-Kim Halil has donated a starter gardening basket with an assortment of gardening items in a handy tote. Value $100.00.
-George & JoAn Hays, Grandparents of Taylor and Payden Hays, have donated a large wall mirror, valued at $140.00 and a decorative Wooden Santa that stands 5 ft., retail value $50.00. They have also donated a coffee basket, romance basket and many other items to fill other pending baskets. Our thanks to them!
-Dr. James Osborne has donated two gift bags containing a Braun Oral B Triumph toothbrush, additional brush heads and other assorted items. Retail value of each gift bag, $100.00. Included with his donation was a copy of the Alumni letter asking for donations. So, thank you to our Alumni who are supporting the auction by making requests like this!!
-Tim & Dena Pepple have donated a Wall Clock that is actually nine clocks displaying the time in different places around the world. Retail value $50.00. Dena Pepple also procured a donation from Angie Johnson photography. It is a sitting fee and gift certificate good toward product or services, valued at $200.00.
-Claudia Farrell procured a donation from Boulevard Brewing. A gift certificate for $100.00, which can go toward 4 cases of their most popular Brews! She has also procured a $30.00 gift certificate to Crown Center which can be used at all shops, hotels and Restaurants!! Yay!
-Gates Bar B Que has donated two dinner gift certificates, bbq sauce and spices. Retail value $40.00.
-Pete & Tracey Costanzo procured a donation from Jerry Madden, wine connoisseur. A bottle of 1996 Chateau Lanessou. Retail value $50.00.
-Jerry’s Sports Shop is donating a Letterman Jacket again this year. Thanks to them for their continued support! Retail value $170.00. Watch for more donation from Jim.
-Brother Chuck has donated several wonderful pieces of jewelry and jewelry sets made in Kenya. He has also donated a wooden spoon/fork salad set made from olive wood, beaded, also made in Africa. Brother Chuck himself has made a rosary out of Lapis Lazuli, authentic stones, and the crucifix has been blessed by Pope John Paul II, who will become a Saint in our Lifetime. Brother Chuck has also donated an Epiphany Box, wooden, which he embellished with a brass plate displaying the three kings. The metal came from Germany, he got in Rome, which was also blessed by Pope John Paul II. These are all one of a kind, unique, handmade gifts that you won’t find anywhere else. So, be ready to bid and bid high!
-Mike Moeller has procured two donations from Midland True Value Hardware in Grandview. First is a 10 gallon Shop Vac. Second is a Black & Decker 5 piece 18 Volt Combo cordless tool set which contains drill/driver, hand vac, flashlight, stud sensor and screwdriver. Retail value of vac $80.00 and retail value of the tool set $100.00.
-Rusty Murray, Alum, has donated from Central States a Coors Light Racing Hood, a neon Coors Light sign, a two person directors chair that has “Coors Light” printed on it, 24 Miller lite, Royals tumblers, and a round Smithwick’s framed mirror. Wow, this is an alum that really supports O’Hara! Thank you Rusty!

Celtic Parent's Club Meeting

The Celtic Parent's Club will have a special meeting October 15, 2008 at 7pm in the school library. Donations Make the Evening a Success!

Donations are still needed to reach our goal this year. Remember, the auction catalogue deadline is November 1st, which is quickly approaching. Please get your donations in as soon as you can. Your gift makes the Evening a success.

Here are the donations we received or items that have been promised this week:

-Sara Hogan took time out from working at the Celtic Shop to donate a darling purse valued at $50.00.
-The Kansas City Ballet has donated two tickets to a winter performance valued at $80.00.
-Joan Sack has donated a Gevalia Coffee Maker, a very popular item in years past. It makes two cups of coffee in 14 oz. stainless steel travel mugs. Retail value at 50.00.
-Earlette Allen procured a donation from GoMotorbids.com. A P-51D Mustang 1:35 scale limited edition military airplane. Retail Value $100.00. Way to go, Earletta!
-Celeste White donated 3 baskets this year. One is a margarita themed basket, retail value $60.00, one is a coffee basket with a retail value of $25.00 and the third is a "Scented" basket containing scented shower gels, candles and coffees, with a value of $25.00. Thank you, Celeste, for your continued support.
-Sheila and Scott Delong have donated a wrench set with toolbox valued at $120.00 and car cleaning supplies valued at $40.00.
-Claudia Farrell has procured more items; they are: 4 admission tickets to the Fire Museum in Memphis, value $24.00, and a commemorative Lucite US Open ticket from 2007, value $50.00, donated by the US Open.
-Kitchen bowls, corian cutting board and other Function Junction accessories have been donated by Anne & Richard Barry, retail value $70.00.
-Dena Pepple has procured a donation from Angie Johnson Photography. It is a portrait and sitting fee with a retail value of $200.00. Makes a great graduation gift!
-John & Kristen Mitchell have donated again this year. A Guinness bar mirror valued at $250.00 and a Smithwick's Irish Ale neon sign valued at $200.00. John and his employer, Diageo, are also responsible for donating all the Imported beers served at the auction. Thank you so much to them!
-Judy Mathews couldn't decide between donating a Green Ipod or a Gold Ipod, so she bought both to donate! Thank you so much, Judy! These will make great Christmas gifts!

Donations can be dropped off at O'Hara during school hours. Make sure you fill out a donation receipt form and attach it to your donation. -KC Steak Co. has donated a gift certificate good toward 4-10 oz. KC Strip Steaks, a $50.00 value.
-Kathy & Todd Magwire have donated two copies of the book Medical Myths that Can Kill You, autographed by the author, Dr. Nancy L. Snyderman, MD., chief medical editor for NBC. Each book has a $40.00 value. The Magwires have also donated an autographed copy of My American Journey, Colin Powell, and tickets to Jingle Jam and Irish Fest.
-Steve Moore, owner of Moore Carpet, Inc. is donating carpet and pad. Details to come. $500.00 value.
-Jeff & Julie Ragsdale have donated an Introductory Flight Lesson. $180.00 value.
-Jordan Photography, Dawn Jordan has donated a $150.00 gift certificate good towards products and services.

-GourmetGiftBaskets.com is supporting O'Hara again this year with a $20.00 gift certificate good toward one of their wonderful gift baskets.
-The Track Family Fun Parks in Branson have donated 4 track cards good for one free ride/game of your choice. Cards value $36.00.
-Jose Peppers continues to support O'Hara , once again donating a $20.00 Dinner Certificate.
-Machelle Seiler procured a donation from Kathy Campbell who sells Beijo Bags. The silver "The Diva" Beijo bag, is valued at $85.00.
-Kerrie & Jerry Rellihan are going to open their southern "farmstead" to host a Father/Son Spring Turkey Hunt. Details coming soon. They are also donating a new driver basket.
-Mary Haggerty's sister, Lisa Ginter, is donating the Owner's Suite for a T-Bone's games for 40 people. That's right, for 20 couples. Start planning now for this great get together with your friends. Details will follow.

Auction Donations are still coming in!

Here's what we received this week:
Denise Brage, working on the procurement team this year, is hard at it and has procured a donation from The Cigar Box. They donated a box of Oliva Master Blend Sampler Cigars valued at $50.00.
-Teri & Brian Lippert have done it again! They have graciously donated a weekend camping trip by providing their pop up camper, delivered to your destination of choice within a 50 mile radius of Lee’s Summit, including setting it up and taking it down. It sleeps 4, has heat and air, and they will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, wood for fire, everything for s’mores, and pop and “adult beverages” for all the campers. The best part, you choose the destination!
-Gwen Hull is donating a private yoga session in your home. Details to follow.
-Alan Hull is donating two, 1 hour wrestling coaching sessions for your wrestler and a friend. His resume fills a page! His experience and knowledge will help the best wrestler become better!
-Denise Crawford and family donated a Learn to Read K-2nd grade Hooked on Phonics set valued at $200.00!
-The DeLasalle Alum have donated a $500.00 credit toward tuition voucher. -Dr. Jackie Devaney donated a consultation, evaluation and two treatments to include acupuncture, emotional freedom technique or chiropractic treatments valued at $155.00.
-Creative Wellness Center, Dr. Michael Martin, donated a Make-up bag filled with Intelligence body lotion and cleansing gel by Arbonne, valued at $50.00.
-Claudia Farrell procured a credit voucher for two tickets to Silver Dollar City and dinner for two at the Upstream Brewing Company in Omaha.
-Eye exam and $100 gift certificate good toward glasses donated by Advanced Eyecare and Blue Springs Optical. Total value $216.00
-Laurie Taylor is also working on procurement and she solicited a donation from the Kansas City T-Bones good for 4 General Admission Grass Berm seats for any regular season Home Game.

Make it GREAT in 2008!

Make it Great in 2008!
The Evening of Celtic Pride is just over 2 months away. In 2006, 376 auction items were collected. In 2007 we had 443 items. We are challenging everyone to "Make it Great in 2008" with 500 items. The deadline to get items listed in the catalogue is about 6 weeks away. As you can see--time is flying and we need your donations now. Your donations--each and every one of them --all add up to a successful event--and hopefully 500 items!. Please donate or procure your item now.
It takes 3 easy steps.
1. Purchase or procure an item.
2. Fill out the procurement/donation form.
3. Deliver or send it to school.

Items are always coming in, so keep them coming and watch for a weekly update.Donations for this past week:
-7 pc. wine set and 7 pc. cordial set, both donated by Lee & Pancho Luna.
-Louie's Mobile DJ, owners: Steve & Lisa Lewis who's son is a 2006 graduate, 4 hours of DJ services for your next big party!
-Smokin' Gringos BBQ, Craig & Kathy Lay, owners, have once again this year, donated a BBQ party for up to 40, ( this will be paired with the above DJ service for the live auction--it could be that perfect party package for Graduation!)
-K.C. Balfour, Mike McClanahan, Rep. has donated a custom made Silvertone Celestrium Class Ring, $220.78 value!
-Mike Sutherlin owner of Sutherlin Optical, has donated a pair of glasses, up to a $300.00 value!
-Susan Rogers, is graciously donating Premier Designs jewelry again this year. Details coming soon!
-Claudia Farrell, who is on the procurement committee again this year, and is in charge of weekend trips! Some tickets already in: Oklahoma City Museum of Art, Sam Noble Museum of Natural History in Oklahoma, Omaha children's Museum family passes, 4 individual day passes to Lauritzen Gardens Omaha's Botanical Center, 4 reserved seats to the Omaha Royals game, 2 family day passes for up to six people to the Omaha Children's Museum and the Veterans Memorial Museum in Branson. Much more to come! Way to go Claudia!
-Michael L. Fortin has donated two Saturday night tickets May 9th, 2009, and a parking pass to the KC Ballet production of "Nine Sinatra Songs" at the Lyric Theater, retail value of $90.
-Chris St. Germain donated a sightseeing flight over the Kansas City Area for up to 3 people. A $145 value.
-Kathy & Larry Ryan (Ryan Lawn & Tree), are supporting our O'Hara Students by donating a Weed & Feed for up to 10,000 sq. ft. of lawn, a $80 value.
-Bill & Nancy Bass (with 2 O'Hara graduates--and no current students) have opened their Pontoon Boat to you and 11 of your friends for a day Cruise at Lakewood. Details to come.
-Jim & Rita Naudet have donated a golf foursome at Leawood South Country Club. Jim, your host, will make it a golf fivesome. This gift includes carts and greens fees.
-Mark & Jennifer Fennesy have donated a pair of game worn, autographed, size 16 Nike football cleats autographed by none other than #88 Tony Gonzalez! These shoes are awesome and BIG!
-Carla & Randy Griffin have donated their Chiefs tickets for the San Diego Chargers game December 14th, Gate B, Section 102, Seats 7,8,9 & 10. Tickets and parking pass -- $383.50.
-Presentation School is donating a Teacher's favorite book basket and book accessories. (This is a challenge to all the other elementary schools!)
-Cecil & Donna Coulter have provided details on the Hunting Rifle. It is a Remington 700, 308 Cal., stainless steel, fluted, ported heavy barrel, polished diamond cut bolt synthetic stock, premium quality rifle with full factory warranty, plus weaver model V10 scope, 10 x 50 variable with silver finish. Rifle has been sited for 100 yards. Leupold bases and rings. This gun has a $1,500.00 retail value! Wow!!

Make Us a Cake as Fast as You Can!
Put the next sale date on your calendar now--Tuesday, October 7th. Bake your favorite goodies and send them in that morning for sale during lunch hours. Puppy chow and brownies were especially popular. All proceeds will be used for the Annual After PROM party. Dena Pepple, coordinating the bake sales this year, would love to hear from you if you are planning to send items in. Call her at 525-8618.
